I've always put cloudy days and cold weather together, because the rainy and grey times all my life have been chilly days. Today is just like that, but hot. And I think my mood has decided to match it. Usually I'm just bored but today I'm really down.
I have had some awesome times with other exchangies: first a weekend with Jessi, in which we got glorious nails done. A bit expensive-r than necessary (was it because we are farangs?) and I ate macadamia nuts. Not just any macadamia nuts! I had to take the shell off myself, and I'm not so good at that. Be thankful if you live in the USA since I now know how horrendous our border crossing requirements can be. I understand how our nation needs some security measures, but being more relaxed towards common civilians couldn't hurt.
Jessi and Bpin (my buddies from Mexico and Canada) both switched to their last families. I am glad they get the new experience and now they both officially reside in #*%(@#* - ing rich houses. With ovens. And pools. Which I've mentioned before, but they are so rare that I'll mention it again. I'm teaching Bpin how to play piano. I'm probably a bad teacher but she stumbled along through parts of the Nutcracker and now with my guiding hand she'll be famous one day.
Lastly, Kayla from Michigan came down to our area and stayed with me! She just left this morning, and I'm feeling alone without her. Not that I was a good host :( Due to ALL THE STUFF I'M ALLOWED TO DO, she got to tag along to such cultural fascinations as Rotary Meeting, Visa Update, and Long Car Ride. Whoo! The highlights of her visit had to be English karaoke and computer movies with Bpin, and our late night heart-to-heart conversations. ;) Still don't know whether I like Pespi or Coke better.
Almost forgot!! Next week is the Rotary's International Convention, May 6 - 9, followed by the Eastern Beach Trip, May 9 - 12. Although expensive, I'm so so so thankful to be included in these.
